With food prices soaring right along with everything else, it is harder than ever to take a chance on new (and usually more expensive) organic products even though we know all about the toxic substances that we are electing to put into our bodies when we don't.  I had a recent conversation with my partner where we joked about going to the poisoned grocery (i.e. the local chain) because we were having an exceptionally tight week. 

It made me think about an old episode of "My Name Is Earl" where Earl's not-so-bright brother Randy almost ate the poisoned cookies that Earl's wife had hoped to use on Earl to get Earl's insurance money.  (Did you follow all that?)  Earl screamed out, "Don't eat those, Randy.  They're poisoned!"  Randy stopped for a moment, looked at the enticing sweets again, then asked, "How poisoned are they?" Unfortunately, that sentiment rings a little too true as I go through my daily life, trying to make good decisions about health and safety, not just for myself, but for my kids while weighing out the temptations related to costs and convenience.  Sometimes those poisoned cookies look awfully tempting.....

Hopefully, this month's additions to Wisengreener.com will make it that much easier for you to avoid the Poison Cookie Syndrome (hereafter known as PCS).
