This month we are all over the map with things that have caught our fancy. Here's the cool stuff we're hot to share.
Cathey's currents:
I found these really cool gift bags that are made of recycled newspaper and are funding an incredible cause. This organization, The India Shop, was founded in 2004 by street children who wanted to give something back in return for opportunities which had allowed them to escape desperate circumstances. As a result of their sales of newspaper and jute items, they have saved thirteen children from the streets. Check them out at www.theindiashop.co.uk
A second find is a little pricier, but great for those who are both fashion and eco-conscious. It's a nice-looking, sleek bracelet cuff made of reclaimed veneer and shaped to be used as a coffee cup holder. It looks nice enough to wear all the time and it sure beats using those throw-away paper cup wraps.Listed at $68 (not terrible for a nice bracelet), you can check them out for yourself at www.contexture.ca
Amy's amours:
My new favorite (and a new favorite for my kids) is definitely Cheetos Natural White Cheddar Puffs. Not only do they taste great without all the bad stuff, but I can't tell you how wonderful it is to NOT have to do extra heavy duty cleaning on my child's face, hands, and clothing. I'm sure I'm not the only mom to be embarrassed that my child looked like a big orange stain in the car rider line after snacktime at school, but that is a thing of the past. Even better, they are found in most big chain grocery stores, and the price is comparable to regular Cheetos.
Another product I have been stuck on is Skippy's Natural Peanut Butter. Again, this is easily found in most groceries, and I have greater peace of mind about feeding it to my kids, since there are no hydrogenated oils.
