The word organic doesn't always mean what you think when you see it on a product label.  The USDA has put together an official regulating system to identify "organic" products by where they fit in the hierarchy of organicity.

100% Organic

Must be composed completely of organic ingredients.  This means absolutely no use of chemicals, pesticides, antibiotics, or growth hormones.

Organic

Must contain at least 95% organic ingredients and cannot contain any added sulfites.

Made with organic ingredients

Must contain at least 70% organic ingredients.  Cannot use the USDA organic seal.
